Medic Algorithm Update: Our Approach

Training

As an award-winning, full service digital marketing agency, we continually strive to improve the content we produce to ensure that our clients can pursue their objectives. As a crucial part of the specialist services that we provide, we regularly host out of hours training sessions to come up with new ideas, share insights and further streamline our processes.

On Tuesday, the team here at Absolute Digital gathered at the end of the day to further discuss the importance of a content gap analysis in light of the Medic Algorithm Update on 1st August. Since the update, a number of businesses operating in the health and wellness sector have been affected, with site traffic rapidly declining.

Google’s priority is to provide users of the search engine with ‘correct and factual information’ and is working towards removing information that can be threatening or pages that: “could potentially impact the future happiness, health, financial stability, or safety of users”.

Once we have put together an audit of existing content, we conduct an in-depth competitor analysis to identify what businesses in the same sector are writing about, including content that is posted on the site and, in some cases, shared on social media. In short, our experts then explore the search volume of potential keywords based on their findings. By conducting a content gap analysis for our clients, we are able to identify gaps between demand and supply. This allows us to effectively bridge these gaps, helping our clients to remain at the forefront of their industry and generate more traffic to their site which leads to greater awareness and conversions.
